The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Our vision is for all youth to achieve their full potential.

Over over 100 years Big Brothers Big Sisters has been serving our country by helping youth gain the skills and assets to be productive adults. Our program delivery model engages adult volunteers who, with the ongoing training and support from professional staff, are matched in a mentoring relationship with a child who lacks consistent adult supports in their life.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley has served the greater Quad Cities area since 1989. Our local affiliate ranks in the top ten percent nationally in performance and impacts over 700 children annually. Our local affiliate is a Guide Star Gold Standard agency, and 95% of the revenue we receive to operate is from private donations such as foundations, corporations, individuals or events.

Our programming is cutting edge to deliver the highest possible impact for the volunteer and child. We focus on consistent, positive relationships and support these relationships with resources that grow their skill sets, confidence and access.
